Time Zone Enhancements Notification 2-7-2022

Netsmart is enhancing the system to use the visit time zone rather than the payer headquarters time zone that is currently used when performing the following operations:

  • Matching a claim line to a prior authorization

  • Performing midnight splits of a claim record (for applicable payers)

  • Performing rollups of split shift visits (for applicable payers)

In the operations above, the EVV system will use the scheduled start address zip code to define the visit time zone.  The Rendered Services Feed will also require a valid scheduled start address zip code be sent for the system to look up the correct time zone.

NOTE:  These changes impact visits where the payer headquarters and the visit are not in the same time zone.

To solidify the prior authorization matching logic, Netsmart stores all prior authorization start date/times and end date/times in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) format.  This allows for prior authorization matching logic to work regardless of the time zone associated with the visit.

These enhancements are scheduled for release to Production on February 17, 2022
